Cala Pola Campsite hosts the Marnaton eDreams Sant Feliu de Guíxols with more than 800 swimmers taking part

Cala Pola Campsite, in Tossa de Mar, was one of the main venues for this weekend’s Marnaton eDreams Sant Feliu de Guíxols, one of Spain’s longest-running open water swimming events. More than 800 participants took part across the different race distances and categories, following a route that passes through some of the most iconic stretches of the Costa Brava coastline.

The flagship 10.5 km race started at Cala Pola and finished in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with 120 swimmers taking part. One of the main highlights of this year’s edition was the return of the route through Illa des Freu, a narrow natural passage just five metres wide and ten metres high, considered one of the most spectacular and distinctive sections of the course.

The programme also included:

• The 6 km race (220 participants)
• The 3.5 km race (200 participants)
• The 1.5 km race (220 participants)
• Marnaton Kids, with around 40 children taking part.

Since 2008, Marnaton has organised a series of open water swimming events at different locations along the Mediterranean coast. Its aim is to promote open water swimming in unique natural settings while encouraging respect for the marine environment and the surrounding landscape.

The Marnaton eDreams Sant Feliu de Guíxols route passes coves, cliffs and some of the Costa Brava’s most scenic coastal landscapes, making it one of the most distinctive events on the circuit.

Once again, Cala Pola Campsite served as the operational base for the competition, welcoming participants, supporters and the event organisation. The campsite offers accommodation and services tailored to athletes while allowing visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings of the Costa Brava throughout the weekend.
